EUROPEAN
SCHOOL OF MISSIONS
What is the
European School
of Missions
The European School of Missions (ESOM) is a three-year intensive program to train young europeans to be ready to lead and serve in their local church or go on church plantings.
ESOM began in Eastern Europe in 2013 and is now focused on the Western European Churches. Our current class consists of students from France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, England, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
Students are trained in their local churches and gather together on zoom or in person every 3 weeks for the duration of the three years.
ESOM CURRICULUM
Our school offers 92 hours of teaching per year (274 hours of teaching total in the 3 years) in four sessions, and support for local training.
The curriculum is broadly divided into 3 areas:
-
Walking with God, prayer life and personal bible study, transparency, self awareness, gifts, strengths and blind spots, cost of leadership, servant leadership, dealing with critique
-
Understanding core doctrine such as the cross and the resurrection, the Holy Spirit; church history.
-
Learning how to lead people to faith, study the Bible with seekers, how to preach; some counseling basics, and how to train and help others in our ministry to grow spiritually
For more information about the curriculum, please read the curriculum information on the application.
SELECTION PROCESS
ESOM participants are selected by their local church and the cost of their tuition is covered by that church. Students apply and enrol for a three-year program on a yearly rolling admissions basis: the first session of the year being in August.
APPLYING TO ESOM
Application for this year is not yet available. Check back in a few weeks and get ready for a three year adventure to be trained thoroughly!
