A CHANCE OF

A LIFETIME

APPLICATION FOR CHANCE OF A LIFETIME IV IS OPEN !! See below

The Beam Missions Foundation, in partnership with Camp Hope for Kids, is excited to announce our newest international adventure entitled "Chance of a Lifetime''. This incredible program offers the opportunity for 10-15 individuals to spend 15 months changing lives, growing personally and seeing dynamic ministries around the world. Our first season of this amazing internship began in June of 2022 and will be completed in August of 2023, with the new season starting in June 2023. "Chance of a Lifetime" interns begin their adventure at Hope for Kids for 3 months of immersive leadership training. From there they are sent to one of our Schools of Missions in the United States for the next academic year with the last three months being sent out to the missions field internationally! Together, these dreamers are learning and serve in ministries including campus, youth and family or young professionals.

COAL IV will have some additional opportunities globally.

As the pandemic is receding in many parts of the world we hope that include more international participants in COAL IV. If you are an international applicant, we strongly encourage you to start looking for visa interviews early.

This life changing program is exclusively available to young members of the International Churches of Christ.

FAQs

What is the cost of this program?

This is a fully funded internship for the entire 15 month period. Participant costs will be covered while at Camp Hope for Kids for the first 3 months. If selected, you'll just need to be able to get yourself to Philadelphia/Camp Hope For Kids for June 1st. Then you will receive a monthly stipend along with housing during the domestic and international Schools of Missions placements.

So this program is free? For 15 months?

YES!

Who is eligible for participation in Chance Of A Lifetime?

Young men and women who are College-aged or recent graduates who are disciples within the International Churches of Christ.

For the 9 months at a domestic school of missions, will we be enrolled at a university?

No

I'd like a better idea of the curriculum/structure of each stage of the program. What topics will we learn? Who are the instructors? What will be the practical/immersive aspects of the program?

While at Camp - we'll focus on practical faith and discipleship as well as evangelism, teaching and preaching, mentoring youth, counseling campers, servant leadership and more.

While at the domestic School of Missions you'll be an intern with Campus, Youth and Family, or Young Professionals ministries.

While at the international portion of the program you'll be working with church leaders in similar ministry internship opportunities. Each international site will be slightly different so it's hard to get more specific than that right now.

I do not live in the United States, can I also apply?

Absolutely! You just need a valid visa to enter the US by June 1st, 2024.

How will the locations be assigned to participants? Do we have any say in where we go and to which school of missions we go in the US and abroad?

Housing will be taken care of. There will be only 1 domestic site (but we're not announcing that one just yet). That means that all 10 interns will be together at Camp and at the domestic site. They will be split up for the international portion. Each participant will select their top 3 choices and then international site decisions will be made with these preferences in mind.

Do I have to have any Ministry Internship experience before applying to Chance Of A Lifetime?

No.
